Rumours is a solo exhibition of new work from Perth-based artist Casey Ayres. Working across the fields of painting, sculpture and photography, Rumours continues Ayres’ recent explorations into the social construction of masculinity.
Conceptually rigorous and aesthetically challenging, Ayres’ work subverts traditional depictions of maleness, introducing self-loathing, insecurity, violence and depression as tacit and powerful markers of male identity.
