Ledge Point is a collection of abstract oil paintings that explore powerful emotional states. Through an experimental, emergent practice, Hewitt reflects on her own experiences to create absorbing pictures that consider wider psychological themes.
Hewitt’s large abstract pieces express a tension with landscape, and suggest geographical analogies for interior emotional states. In her work, paintings become places that contain duelling passions, possibilities, and futures.
