Curator Chelsea Hopper presents 9/11, an exhibition exploring the legacy of September 11 in the work of celebrated Australian and international artists.

Exhibition opening from 6:30pm, Friday 21 August
Curator talk from 5:30

pm, Friday 21 August

As Australia quietly returns to war in the Middle East, expands anti-terror laws, and even attempts to broaden citizenship revocation powers, it faces a deepening cultural crisis that originated in an event fourteen years ago. The attacks on the World Trade Center signified a historical turning point, a disruptive moment that ended one era and ushered in the new age — the age of terrorism, mass surveillance, and perpetual warfare.

Please join us on opening night with a curator talk led by Dr Stefano Carboni (AGWA), and on the following night for a panel discussion featuring Dr. Stefano Carboni, Associate Professor Anne Aly, and George Gittoes, moderated by Chelsea Hopper.
